Security forces apprehend terrorist in central Baghdad
The terrorist arrested by the security forces.
Baghdad (IraqiNews) Spokesman for the Ministry of Interior Affairs, General Saad Maan, announced that security forces arrested a terrorist in central Baghdad. The terrorist previously participated in the killing of police officers in Mosul.
Maan said in a press statement that security forces protecting the facilities and figures working within the intelligence agency in the Ministry of Interior Affairs arrested one of the terrorists in the center of the capital. The security forces set an ambush for the terrorist, backed by a detachment from Baghdad Intelligence Directorate in Karrada.
Furthermore, Maan added that the terrorist was working as a detachment leader for the so-called Wilayat Ninewa. He also participated in the killing of police officers and associates in Mosul, during the IS control on the area.
Maan also pointed out that the terrorist had two brothers, who were killed during the liberation operations. The three brothers were serving the Islamic State, he added.
The terrorist was investigated and transferred to the relevant court, he explained.
It is noteworthy that security forces are frequently apprehending suspects on criminal and terrorism charges in different areas of the country.
