Security forces clamp down on “dangerous gang” in Karbala

KARBALA / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi army-police combined forces arrested three persons affiliated with a “criminal” gang two days after they abducted and killed a citizen, Karbala police director said on Tuesday. “The gang is specialized in murder and abduction,” General Ali Jassim Mohammed told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The arrests took place in a neighborhood southern Karbala city,” he said. “Two days ago, the gang kidnapped a citizen and killed him, a matter that helped security forces to collect information and evidences to arrest the criminals,” he added. General Mohammed pointed out that interrogation is underway with those arrested, adding they be admitted to the judiciary after that. The holy city of Karbala lies 110 km southwest of Baghdad.
