Security forces foil ISIS offensive on Hamrin Hills and Makhoul Mountains, 34 militants killed
(IraqiNews.com) Salahuddin – The Ministry of Interior announced on Sunday the killing of 34 ISIS elements during violent clashes between the Iraqi security forces and ISIS militants in Hamrin Hills and Makhoul Mountains.
The ministry said in a statement obtained by iraqiNews.com, “Forces belonging to The Federal Police Command as well as the Third Commandos Regiment had foiled an attack by [ISIS] and killed 25 terrorists, in addition to destroying two mortar detachments and burning 3 vehicles in Hamrin Hills,” adding also that, “The Eleventh Regiment of the Federal Police foiled an assault by the enemy and destructed a vehicle for them on al-Siniyah-Sharqat road, while the Thirteenth Regiment was able to kill 9 ISIS elements and destroy a vehicle that had carried gear in the area of al-A’ish in Makhoul Mountains.”
