 Security forces kill 4 ISIS elements, free 2 civilian hostages north of Baqubah

(IraqiNews.com) Diyali – The security committee in Diyali Provincial Council announced on Saturday, that Iraqi security forces had managed to kill four ISIS militants and free two civilian hostages during a tactical operation north of Baqubah.

The president of the committee, Sadek al-Husseini, said in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “A joint force from the Special Operations of Diyala police, backed by al-Hashed al-Sha’bi militia, succeeded in a tactical operation in the vicinity of the villages of Albu Issa on the border with Salahuddin province,” pointing out that, “The force killed four ISIS militants and freed two civilian hostages that ISIS had kidnapped and used as human shields in front of the joint security forces.”

Husseini added, “The villages of Albu Issa were fully liberated and became under the control of the security forces and al-Hashed al-Sha’bi [militia].”
