Security forces repel ISIS attack on Ajil oil field, kill 30 militants east of Tikrit

(IraqiNews.com) Salahaddin – A security source in Salahuddin Province announced on Saturday, that the joint forces repulsed ISIS attack on Ajil oil field east of Tikrit from four axes, while pointed out to the killing of 30 ISIS militants and one of the security forces during the operation.
The source said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, “This afternoon, a joint force from the army, Federal Police and al-Hashed al-Shaabi managed to repel a violent attack carried out by ISIS militants from four axes on the defense lines near Ajil oil field in Hamrin Mountain east of Tikrit, killing 30 members of ISIS and one Federal Police member.”
The source, who asked anonymity, added, “The operation also resulted in the destruction of three vehicles belonging to ISIS.”
