Security plan to protect candidates in Talafar

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: Security forces in Talafar hatched a plan to protect candidates in the country’s upcoming parliamentary elections against threats targeting them, according to a police source in Ninew on Sunday. “The plan would continue until the end of the elections that are scheduled to start on March 7,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Several candidates in Talafar, (60 km) northwest of Mosul city, have embarked on holding rallies and canvassing to promote their parties, and they need to have their campaigning protected against armed operations that might target them,” the source added. Mosul, the capital city of the volatile province of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of Baghdad. AmR (P)/SR 2
