Shia paramilitary ‘Peace Brigades’ kill 30 ISIS fighters says Akili
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) On Wednesday the Shia paramilitary ‘Peace Brigades,’ an offshoot of Cleric Muqtada Sadr’s Mahdi Army militia, declared that they killed 30 ISIS militants and liberated Albu-Hasan village near Amerli after a battle that lasted six hours long.
The Peace Brigades Military Spokesman, Ahmed al-Akili said that “An armed troop from both the Peace Brigades and the Iraqi Army killed more than 30 militants belonging to the ISIS group in Albu-Hasan district near Amerli during the battle which lasted for six hours. The small village is now free” said Akili.
He also noted “The security forces accompanied by armed clans lifted the siege on the city earlier and managed to open a few roads to link Baghdad with Amerli and the surrounding villages.”
