Six citizens injured in two bomb blasts, north of Baghdad

Speaking to AlSumaria News, the source said “a bomb went off targeting civilians in al-Jaza’er district in al-Shaab region, leaving four people seriously injured.”
Moreover, two other civilians were injured as a bomb exploded in a bus, north of the capital.
“A bomb, placed in a bus in al-Sho’ala region, north of Baghdad, went off leaving two citizens injured,” the source said.
Security troops, according to the source, who preferred anonymity, cordoned off the blast scene and prevented approach, while the injured were taken to hospital for treatment.
A total of 79 Iraqi civilians were killed and another 99 injured in acts of terrorism, violence and armed conflict in Iraq in July 2018, according to casualty figures recorded by the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI).
Baghdad was the worst affected Governorate, with 63 civilian casualties (30 killed, 33 injured), followed by Kirkuk (8 killed, 34 injured) and Nineveh (13 killed and 05 injured).
Islamic State continues to launch sporadic attacks across Iraq against troops. Security reports indicate that the militant group still poses threat against stability in the country. The group still has dormant cells, through which it carries out attacks, across Iraq like it used to do before 2014.
