Suicide bombing kills 2 visitors, injures 15 in Diala
DIALA / IraqiNews.com: At least two civilians were killed and 15 others were wounded in a suicide car bomb attack that targeted Shiite visitors heading to Karbala on the road linking between Diala and Baghdad, a security source said on Wednesday. “A suicide bomber blew up a car rigged with explosives targeting Shiite visitors heading to Karbala to commemorate the Arbaeen visit in al-Kasrien region on the road linking Diala and Baghdad, killing two civilians and injuring 15, including deputy chairman of the Diala council Sadeq al-Husseini,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. The Arbaeen is a religious occasion marking the 40 th day after the death of Imam al-Hussein, the Prophet Muhammad’s grandson and the third holiest figure for Shiite Muslims, in the battle of Taf in Karbala in the Hegira year 61 (680 in the Gregorian calendar).
