Suicide explosion kills, injures scores of Iranians in Diala

Diala-Iranian DIALA / IraqiNews.com: A suicide bomber blew himself up on Thursday targeting Iranian pilgrims in Diala while on their way to visit Shiite shrines, killing and injuring scores of them, a security source said. “A suicide bomber blew up an explosive belt strapped to his body on Thursday (April 23) inside a restaurant on Imam Wes road in northeast of Baaquba, killing and wounding scores of Iranian pilgrims who were in it,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The Iranian pilgrims were on their way to visit Shiite shrines in Karbala and Najaf,” he added. Baaquba, the capital of Diala, lies 57 km northeast of Baghdad. SH (P)/SR 1
