Tikrit (IraqiNews.com) Two people died when a car bomb exploded in the city  of Tikrit, the capital of Iraq’s Salahuddin province, on Tuesday, according to the health ministry.

Alsumaria News quoted the ministry in a breaking news saying two people were killed in the explosion which the Security Media Center earlier said had occurred at al-Aqwas neighborhood.

Violent attacks continue in Iraq even after the government declared victory over Islamic State extremists late 2017.

In a monthly count, the United Nations Assistance Mission in Iraq (UNAMI) said 32 were killed as a result of terrorism and conflicts in Iraq during December.
