BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Multi-National Forces (MNF) in Iraq said that a coalition forces soldier died of injuries sustained during an explosive projectile attack on a convoy five kilometers south of Karbala, April 13 at approximately 7:40 a.m. “The soldier’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin and release by the Department of Defense,” the MNF said in a release received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “The incident is currently under investigation,” it added. With the death of this soldier, the number of U.S. soldiers who died in Iraq during April 2009 has increased to 10, while the total number of U.S. soldier who fell in Iraq since the beginning of military operations in that country is now 4,273.
