URGENT: Iraqi troops and tribal fighters begin Intensive operation to retake Heet
Al-Anbar (IraqiNews.com) On Thursday, a security source in al-Anbar province said, that Iraqi Army troops accompanied with armed volunteers, began an intensive military operation to liberate Heet from the ISIS group militants.
The source informed IraqiNews, “This morning, Army troops accompanied with tribal fighters from Albu-Nimr tribe alongside support from the international coalition warplanes have taken an offensive on the ISIS group militants in the district of Heet, located 70 km west of Ramadi. The operation begun from the area of al-Dawlab in western Heet.
The source has not revealed information regarding casualties or loses in any side, but said the clashes are ongoing between Iraqi forces and the militants in the heart of the district.
