Urgent – Fallujah military operations suspended for 3 days
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Ministry of Defense suspended military operations in Fallujah city for three days as of Friday night.
The Ministry of Defense declared in a statement received by IraqiNews.com ”In response for good intentions and goodwill initiatives conducted by clerics and chieftains and even officers who desired to stop the blood shedding in Fallujah city whose people are paying the price where they are being killed or displaced of their houses due to the control of the terrorists affiliated of what is so called the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, the security leaders consulted the Commanding General of Armed Forces, Nouri al-Maliki, and the Ministry decided that:
- The military operations will be suspended for 72 hours, three days, as of Friday night till next Monday dated on 24 February 2014.
- The ministry directed a warring for the terrorists of the consequences of attacking the civilians, security forces, governmental institutions and hospitals in order to prove that the Government did not respect its commitments and the Government promises and if they attempted to do so, the ISF will re-attack them severely and harshly.
- The Ministry urged the people and the men of tribes to expel all the terrorists of the city so the civilians can go back to the their houses and the life returns to its normal condition where the schools and all facilities re-open again.
