Volunteer soldier killed in militant attack northeast of Baqubah, Diyali

(IraqiNews.com) Diyali – A local source in Diyali province said on Sunday, that an element of al-Hashed al-Sha’bi militia had been killed in a militant attack northeast of Baqubah.

The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, reported for IraqiNews.com, “This evening, unidentified militants opened fire against a vehicle driven by one of the elements of al-Hashed al-Sha’bi while passing on Baqubah-Maqdadiya road northeast of Baqubah, resulting in his immediate death,” adding that, “The security authorities transferred the dead body to the forensic medicine department, while opened an investigation into the incident to determine the party that stands behind it.”
