Wassit to receive security file soon – al-Rubaei

Wassit-Rubaei BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Security Adviser Muwafaq al-Rubaei on Thursday said that Iraqi security forces to receive the security file of Wassit province in the coming days. Speaking at a ceremony held on the occasion of receiving the Babel security file, al-Rubaei said “Wassit will receive the security file from the Multinational forces in the coming days.” He asserted the readiness of Iraqi security forces to receive the security file of the rest of the provinces. Security commanders had announced yesterday in Babel that all preparations have been completed to receive the security file from the Multinational forces on Thursday, while the spokesman for the Baghdad’s Fardh al-Qanoon plan General Qassem Atta said that the Iraqi forces were ready to receive the security file after increasing their number and the development of their security capabilities. Babel, a Shiite province that lies 100 km south of the Iraqi capital Baghdad, has an area of 6,468 square kilometers (2,497.3 sq mi), with an estimated population of 1,385,783 people in 2003. The provincial capital is the town of al-Hilla. The ancient ruins of Babylon (Babil, after which the region is named) are also in the province. SH (S)/SR 1
