We are not involved with Iraqi navy – U.S. commander

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: U.S. forces that replaced the British forces in Basra do not currently play a role with regards to the Iraqi navy, the forces’ commander said on Wednesday, explaining that his troops will stand side by side with all Iraqi security forces. “Currently, we have no combined efforts or programs with the Iraqi navy,” Major General Richard Nash, commander of the U.S. army 34th division, told IraqiNews.com news agency. “We will continue assisting all our Iraqi partners as soon as they demand support,” he said.
