Weapons cache found near Hamrin

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: Asayesh (Kurdish security) forces on Thursday found a cache of arms near Iraq’s northern Hamrin Mountains, according to a security source. “In cooperation with Iraqi army personnel, Asayesh forces found a cache containing weapons in Maydan village near Hamrin Mountains on the main road between Tikrit city and Touz Khormato,” the source told IraqiNews.com. “The cache contained three mortar shells, dozens of other shells, and a 1.5-meter rocket,” the source explained. Asayesh or Asayish (Persian for security) is a Kurdish organization, created in September 1993. It is referred to as “intelligence agency”, “security force”, “security service”, “security police”, “secret service”, “secret police”, or just “Kurdish police.” It is related to Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iraq. It is also funded by the CIA and acts under the command of the Kurdish National Assembly and the Kurdistan Regional Government Kurdistan RegionG). SS (P) 1
