WOC lifts curfew in Wassit
WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: The Wassit Operations Command on Thursday lifted the curfew and vehicle ban imposed in the province, a police source said. “The decision was taken as the security condition became more stable and police and army forces control the situation,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. The WOC had imposed a curfew yesterday from 4:00 p.m. until further notice. Hundreds of protesters staged a demonstration today in front of the local council’s building, calling for improving services and holding corrupt officials accountable.
