Woman recruited suicide bombers arrested
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi security sources arrested a woman who confessed to being behind 28 suicide bombings that occurred in Baghdad and Diala, an official source from Baghdad’s Operation Command (BOC) said on Tuesday. “On January 21, Iraqi security forces arrested Samira Ahmed Jassem, who has recruited female suicide bombers,” a BOC spokesperson, Maj. Gen. Qassem Ata, said in a press conference attended by IraqiNews.com news agency. The official refused to reveal the place of the arrest, citing security reasons. “Samira Jassem confessed to having recruited women who carried out 28 suicide attacks in different parts of Baghdad and Diala,” Ata noted. “However, our information indicates that she has recruited 80 female suicide bombers,” he added.
