Woman shot down in western Mosul
NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: A woman on Saturday was gunned down in front of her house in western Mosul city, an Iraqi army source said. “On Saturday morning, unknown gunmen shot down a woman while she was standing in front of her house in Bab Jadeed area, western Mosul,” the source told IraqiNews.com. The source did not provide further information about the motivations behind the attack. Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of Baghdad. The original city of Mosul stands on the west bank of the Tigris River, opposite the ancient biblical city of Nineveh on the east bank, but the metropolitan area has now grown to encompass substantial areas on both banks, with five bridges linking the two sides.
