Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Kirkuk governorate in northern Iraq decided on Saturday to compensate 500 families whose homes were destroyed during the war against ISIS, according to a statement cited by the Iraq News Agency (NA).

“Following relentless and continuous efforts made by the governor of Kirkuk, Rakan Saeed Al-Jubouri, a new proportion of a 500 name list of those whose houses were destroyed was approved, after the Ministry of Finance allocated the cash that will be disbursed by those affected,” the spokesperson of Kirkuk governorate said.

Kirkuk governorate spokesperson called on those who have the right to compensation to go to the governorate’s office to receive the checks, which will be distributed to 20 percent of the 500-familiy list every week, until all those affected by the war against ISIS receive their financial entitlements.

Earlier on Monday, officers from the Iraqi Directorate of General Military Intelligence (DGMI) arrested 24 terrorists in separate parts of the country, INA reported.

The DGMI issued a statement in which it mentioned that the suspects were arrested during preemptive operations carried out by officers in the security directorates of Diyala, Baghdad and Maysan governorates.
