Al-Shaab Hospital in Baghdad to be completed in 2024
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Ministry of Planning mentioned on Tuesday that Al-Shaab (People’s) Hospital in the capital, Baghdad, will be completed in the second half of 2024, stressing that it will provide medical care to more than three million people, according to a statement cited by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
A team from the Ministry of Planning visited the construction site of Al-Shaab Hospital and witnessed issues that impede the completion of the project, INA mentioned.
The team said that the issues include the lack of a sewage treatment station, in addition to the need for an electricity connection line to connect the hospital to the electricity grid, calling on the relevant authorities to address these problems, INA reported.
This visit is part of the directives of the Minister of Planning, Muhammad Ali Tamim, and the priorities of the government’s program to improve the services provided to citizens, and to assess the progress in the implementation stages of the hospital project, INA clarified.
The hospital will contribute to providing medical, health and advisory services to more than three million people in areas in Baghdad.
The new hospital is constructed on an area of more than 40 thousand square meters and has a capacity of 200 beds. It consists of six buildings and a parking lot with different architectural designs.
The completion rate of the hospital reached 65 percent, and it is expected to have a five story building for doctors residing in the hospital.
