Al-Sudani, Barzani examine Iraq’s economic initiatives
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, and the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), Masrour Barzani, discussed on Thursday the government’s initiatives in the economic and service sectors to promote sustainable growth.
The meeting addressed national concerns throughout Iraq, government initiatives pertaining to the economy and services, and methods for achieving sustainable growth that would have an impact on the lives of Iraqis nationwide, according to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
The two sides also talked about joint issues, emphasizing the need to hold ongoing discussions and engage in constructive dialogue to resolve unresolved matters in a way that supports the country’s objectives and complies with the law and the constitution.
In early April, Al-Sudani and the President of the Kurdistan region of Iraq, Nechervan Barzani, emphasized the determination of the federal government to fulfill the needs and ambitions of Iraqis in all parts of the country, as well as to promote integration between the federal government and the authorities in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.
Both parties highlighted the need to support the government’s reform measures in order to accomplish the government’s objectives, continue consolidating comprehensive development, and overcome administrative and executive obstacles that prevent improving living, working conditions, and the economy.
The salaries of government employees in Iraq’s Kurdistan region and the resumption of oil exports are two of the main issues that Baghdad and Erbil are now dealing with.
