Al-Sudani meets with Iraqi community in Michigan

Michigan (IraqiNews.com) – Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani visited Michigan on Thursday to meet with members of the state’s Iraqi-American community. This follows a trip to Houston to engage with US energy corporations and a previous meeting with President Joe Biden in Washington.
According to the Associated Press, Al-Sudani was received upon arrival by Wayne County Executive Warren Evans, as well as numerous officials from Michigan’s Arab American community, including Deputy Wayne County Executive Assad I. Turfe and Dearborn State Rep. Alabas Farhat.
Al-Sudani headed to a mosque in Dearborn Heights, where the Prime Minister had a meeting with authorities and members of the Iraqi community. He gave a status report on his discussion with President Biden about the economic and political ties between Iraq and the United States along with regional conflict in the Middle East.

One of the biggest populations of Iraqis in the US can be discovered in Michigan. According to the US Census, Michigan has the greatest population of Iraqi heritage, with over 90,000 inhabitants.
