Azerbaijani President ratifies MoUs with Iraq on political consultation, tourism
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Azerbaijani President, Ilham Aliyev, signed an order approving the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Azerbaijani State Tourism Agency and the Iraqi Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities on cooperation in the tourism sector.
The step approves the MoU signed between both sides on November 20, 2023, in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku, according to Azernews.
The Azerbaijani State Tourism Agency will ensure the implementation of the terms of the MoU, and the Foreign Ministry should notify the Iraqi government about the completion of internal processes required for the MoU to come into effect.
Aliyev also signed a decree approving the MoU on political consultations between the foreign ministries of both countries.
During a visit of the Iraqi President, Abdul Latif Rashid, to Baku last month, Iraq and Azerbaijan signed memoranda of understanding and agreements in different fields to boost political, economic, trade, and tourism cooperation.
The Azerbaijani Minister of Digital Development and Transport, Rashad Nabiyev, and the President of the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority (ICAA), Imad Al-Asadi, signed an air services agreement last month between the two governments.
