Basra Police, EUAM Iraq visit Basra International Stadium

Basra (IraqiNews.com) – In order to be ready for the 25th Arabian Gulf Cup, the Basra Police and top advisers from the European Union Advisory Mission in Iraq (EUAM Iraq) recently visited the Basra International Stadium. The 2023 football tournament will run from January 6 to January 19 in Basra, Iraq.
A four-day program on command and control and crisis management was conducted by the EUAM Iraq Senior Strategic Advisers for 30 Senior Police Commanders in Iraq. The session included an exercise with 500 police officers at the Basra International Stadium to prepare security for the football matches.
Basra International Stadium, which was just constructed, can accommodate up to 65,000 attendees.
EUAM Iraq was established in October 2017 in response to the Iraqi government’s request for guidance on how to restructure the civilian security sector (SSR).
