 Dutch PM affirms his country’s continued support for Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, affirmed on Monday his country’s continued support for Iraq, during his meeting with the Iraqi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, on the sidelines of the 27th Conference of the Parties (COP 27) of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC), held in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, according to a press statement issued by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry.

The meeting addressed ways to strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries to enhance the common interests and confront common risks, the statement mentioned.

Fuad confirmed that the new Iraqi government will continue to develop its relations with all countries supporting Iraq, expressing his appreciation to the Netherlands for supporting Iraq in various fields, the statement elaborated.

Rutte indicated that the Dutch government is looking forward to expanding its work with Iraq, and seeking to open new horizons for cooperation between both countries in many fields.

Fuad is participating in COP 27 within an Iraqi delegation headed by President Abdul Latif Rashid.

The Iraqi Foreign Minister attended the bilateral meetings held by Abdul Latif with the King of Jordan, the Tunisian Prime Minister, the Lebanese Prime Minister, the President of Armenia, the Palestinian Prime Minister, the Algerian President and the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia.
