Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, received on Tuesday an official invitation from the Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to participate in an urgent summit on Gaza.

A statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) mentioned that Al-Sudani received the invitation from El-Sisi to take part in the summit that will be held in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, where several leaders from the Middle East will attend.

The summit will address the dangerous developments taking place in the Gaza Strip and the Israeli hostilities against the Palestinian people.

According to diplomatic sources in Cairo, the United States President, Joe Biden, will attend the summit scheduled to take place on October 21, where leaders of Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Turkey will attend.

The US President is supposed to visit Israel before arriving in Egypt, officials in the White House confirmed.

Additionally, sources said there is a possibility that Iran will attend the summit since it is involved in the present situation.

The summit comes amid Israel’s continuous assault on Gaza that began last week.

More than 2,800 Palestinians, including at least 1,000 children, have been killed by the Israeli occupation forces in the past 11 days, and more than 11,000 others have been injured.
