Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Ministry of Electricity confirmed on Monday that the government is interested in diversifying energy sources and proceeding with electrical interconnection projects, according to a statement cited by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Electricity, Ahmed Mousa, mentioned that the Iraqi government and the Minister of Electricity are interested in diversifying energy sources and moving forward with completing electrical interconnection projects to have a reliable and stable electrical network.

Mousa elaborated that the purpose of the electrical interconnection is to prepare Iraq to be an important member of the energy market.
