FlyErbil plans to launch flights to London by end of May
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – FlyErbil will launch its newest route linking the capital of the Kurdistan region of Iraq, Erbil, with the capital of England and the United Kingdom, London, by the end of May.
The Iraqi airline based at Erbil International Airport will operate flights every Friday to London Gatwick Airport, according to AeroRoutes, a leading source for worldwide airline schedules and network change documentation.
Flights on the new route will be operated by Airbus A320 aircraft through the Bulgarian city of Plovdiv.
On March 18, 2024, FlyErbil announced this major expansion, demonstrating the airline’s dedication to improving connections and making travel between Iraq and the UK easier.
Since it was founded in 2015, FlyErbil has operated both domestic and international flights to 17 destinations in Europe and the Middle East.
The Islamic State (ISIS)-related violence in the region caused the airline to postpone operations for three years.
With its inaugural flight from Erbil International Airport to Rotterdam The Hague Airport through the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, FlyErbil formally started offering regular services in 2018.
