Gregory Galligan becomes ambassador to Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Canada appointed Gregory Galligan as the ambassador to the Republic of Iraq.

Ambassador Galligan takes over ambassador Ulric Shannon, who has served as Canada’s ambassador since 2019.

Ambassador Galligan tweeted from his official Twitter account: “I am very honored to be appointed as the next Canadian Ambassador to the Republic of Iraq. With our offices in Baghdad and Erbil and our partners across Iraq, I look forward to strengthening the relationship between our two countries and reaffirming Canada’s commitment to the people of Iraq.”
