Gunmen throw handmade bomb at KFC restaurant in Baghdad

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi security forces announced on Sunday the arrest of two gunmen for targeting a KFC branch in Baghdad using a handmade bomb.
The incident took place on Saturday night when two suspects on a motorcycle attacked a KFC restaurant on Palestine Street in Baghdad, according to a statement released by Baghdad Operations Command.
The statement clarified that the attackers’ identities were discovered after reviewing security cameras at the scene, adding that handguns were seized.
The restaurant’s entryway sustained material damage as a result of the attack, while no casualties have been recorded.
Famous American fast-food business KFC is one of several Western companies that have faced demands for boycotts due to their apparent ties to Israel. The profits of other well-known chains, such as McDonald’s and Starbucks, have been severely impacted by boycotts in the Muslim community.
Over 35,000 people have died as a result of Israel’s devastating military operation against the Gaza Strip, which has prompted the boycotts.
Israel launched its military operations in retaliation for an attack carried out by Hamas in southern Israel that killed around 1,200 people.
