Head of Iraqi Wisdom Movement meets with Egyptian President
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, received on Sunday the head of the Iraqi Wisdom Movement, Ammar Al-Hakim, where they discussed the latest developments in the region, according to a statement issued by the Egyptian Presidency.
The meeting was attended by the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sameh Shoukry; the head of the Egyptian General Intelligence, Abbas Kamel; and the Iraqi Ambassador to Egypt, Ahmed Al-Dulaimi, as mentioned in the statement.
The spokesperson of the Egyptian Presidency, Ahmed Fahmy, mentioned in a statement that El-Sisi confirmed that relations between Egypt and Iraq are strong at both the official and popular levels.
The Egyptian President stressed that Egypt is keen on the safety, security, and stability of Iraq and supports the Iraqi efforts to achieve development and progress, where Al-Hakim plays a constructive role to maintain stability and balance in Iraq, the statement illustrated.
The head of the Iraqi Wisdom Movement expressed appreciation for Egypt’s role in maintaining stability in the Islamic and Arab regions, stressing that Iraq is looking forward to strengthening ties between both countries.
Al-Hakim also expressed gratitude for the Egyptian efforts supporting Iraq, and his country’s keenness to benefit from Egyptian development experiences in all fields.
