Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed on Wednesday that it supports Jordan’s decision to withdraw its ambassador from Israel.

A statement issued by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry mentioned that it supports the decision taken by Jordan requesting Israel to stop the aggression against the Palestinian people in the besieged Gaza Strip, the Iraqi News Agency (INA) reported.

The Jordanian decision came in response to the conflict in Gaza, which has claimed over 8,700 lives.

The Iraqi Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the inhumane aggression of the Israeli occupation forces on the Jabalia camp in the besieged Gaza Strip, which resulted in the death and injury of many innocent civilians.

Hamas militants in Gaza launched an unprecedented surprise attack on Israel on October 7.

Israel established a total blockade of the Gaza Strip and continued heartless bombing, pushing almost half of Gaza’s 2.3 million population from their homes and leading to a humanitarian catastrophe as food, fuel, and water supplies are critically low.

Israeli officials said that 1,400 people have been killed and 3,500 have been injured in rocket launches and terror acts by Hamas.

Israeli authorities said earlier that 224 Israeli hostages are being held captive by Hamas militants in Gaza.
