Iraq, Britain discuss developing bilateral ties
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, held talks with the British Ambassador to Iraq, Mark Bryson-Richardson, on ways to enhance the bilateral cooperation between the two countries, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s press office.
During the meeting held in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, Al-Sudani and Richardson talked about ways to enhance and develop the bilateral cooperation between the two sides in different sectors, the statement mentioned.
The two sides stressed the continuation of constructive cooperation, and the support for the efforts of the Iraqi government in reform, development and security.
Both officials also emphasized the need to open new paths to develop the level of the relations between the two countries at various levels.
In February, Al-Sudani received a UK delegation led by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Tariq Ahmed, expressing Baghdad’s willingness for closer collaborations with London in various sectors.
Ahmed expressed the UK’s desire for closer collaboration with Iraq and London’s readiness to support Baghdad’s economy and security.
The British official also expressed his country’s willingness to support the government’s reform and development program.
