Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraq Securities Commission (ISC) announced on Tuesday that it had signed a joint cooperation agreement with the British Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI).

The Deputy Chairman of ISC, Nagham Hussein, told Shafaq News that the agreement sets a framework for cooperation and information exchange on financial training programs for securities and services to develop and maintain capabilities.

Hussein explained that the terms of the agreement include training courses for ISC employees to learn from the experiences of financial markets in countries around the world.

“The agreement will develop a professional framework to provide local Iraqi institutes specializing in securities with CISI experiences,” Hussein said.

The Head of the ISC, Faisal Al-Haimas, explained that the ISC has been studying the agreement for a year.

Al-Haimas elaborated that the agreement represents a significant change in the way stock market brokers operate in terms of boosting the financial performance of companies and their capacity to bring in new skills for the Iraqi stock market as well as other regional and international markets.
