Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Iraq’s representative at the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) conference called on the countries of the world on Thursday to create a new international order.

The President of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union and Acting Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, recommended the formation of a permanent committee to enhance regional parliamentary cooperation, according to the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

During his participation in the 14th session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly held in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku, Al-Mandalawi reaffirmed that Iraq is keen to create a national project plan that would enable Iraq to be integrated with the 2030 agenda’s sustainable development goals.

“Israel does not respect international law, and its supporters must stop,” Al-Mandalawi said. “It is our duty to handle the catastrophic situation in Gaza,” he added.

The Iraqi lawmaker called for condemning the aggression against Iraq and some Arab countries and recommending a permanent committee to be responsible for supporting regional parliamentary cooperation.

An Iraqi parliamentary delegation headed by Al-Mandalawi arrived on Wednesday in the capital, Baku, to participate in the 14th session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly.
