Iraq engages in joint patrol in the Gulf with the US, Kuwait

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Iraq, Kuwait, and the United States’ maritime security recently finished a combined patrol in the Arabian Gulf. This marks the second time in four months (August 25) that the three countries have sailed jointly to advance maritime security.
Iraqi Navy and Coast Guard ships took part in operations alongside the USS Dextrous mine countermeasures ship (MCM 13). The vessels practiced maritime security and maneuverability drills.
“Partnerships are at the foundation of maritime security and stability in the Middle East,” said Vice Adm. Brad Cooper, Commander of U.S. Naval Forces Central Command, U.S. 5th Fleet and Combined Maritime Forces. “Our continued collaboration reflects our collective commitment to safeguarding regional waters.”
On August 25, the three countries carried out a similar patrol in the Arabian Gulf.
