Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, received on Monday the Arab Ministers of Justice, who will participate in the 39th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Justice held in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.

Al-Sudani emphasized that Iraq is looking forward to establishing strong relations with the Arab countries, promoting cooperation in different fields, and working towards the prosperity and development of the Arab countries, according to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

The 39th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Justice started on Monday with the participation of the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the Iraqi News Agency (INA) reported.

The Iraqi Minister of Justice, Khaled Shawani, said during the session that Iraq has regained its influential regional role after eliminating terrorism.

Aboul Gheit explained that the Palestinians in Gaza are facing a genocide that threatens more than 2.2 million people.

The Secretary-General of the Arab League added that the displacement of the people in Gaza and the collective punishment are against the principles of international law, calling for immediate action to stop the Israeli military operation against civilians and the delivery of humanitarian aid.
