Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, highlighted on Monday the need to strengthen cooperation between the Iraqi and Iranian police forces to enforce the law.

Al-Sudani’s remarks took place during his meeting with the chief commander of the Law Enforcement Command of Iran, Ahmed-Reza Radan, and his accompanying delegation, where they discussed various aspects of cooperation between the two countries, especially ways to maintain security and pursue organized crime, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

The two sides stressed the importance of bilateral security cooperation in matters of border control and the fight against drug trafficking, which poses a shared threat to both countries.

The prime minister emphasized the significance of collaboration between the police services of the two countries to enforce the law, maintain security, and foster commerce and integration across a range of economic issues.

Iran’s chief of police, during a meeting on Monday with the Iraqi National Security Advisor, Qasim Al-Araji, stressed that Iran is eager to enhance cooperation and exchange experiences and energies with Iraq, noting the importance of Iraq’s role in the region.
