Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi pavilion participating in the Halal Exhibition held in Istanbul, Turkey, won first place as the best participation and design among 36 Arab and Islamic countries, the Iraqi News Agency (INA) reported.

The Director General of the Iraqi Exhibitions Company, Zahra Al-Gilani, said in a statement that the Iraqi participation is the first of its kind in the Halal Expo. She added that the Iraqi pavilion attracted visitors, tourists, businessmen, as well as Turkish and foreign investors because of the different items and the distinct decorations the pavilion enjoys.

Al-Gilani elaborated that the exceptional efforts started last September and made by the staff of the company, particularly the Department of Foreign Exhibitions and other supporting departments, were the reason behind this impressive success, which showed Iraq as the best representative in this international exhibition, according to INA.

The exhibition started on November 24, and lasted until November 27, and it is the largest exhibition in the halal sector organized in association with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Halal Expo is an annual event organized in cooperation with the Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT), the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC), with the support of the Turkish Ministry of Trade and other Turkish related ministries and public institutions.

The Halal Expo hosted 378 national and international exhibitors from 36 countries and more than 34,865 visitors including foreigners amounting to 4756 attendees from 94 countries.
