Iraq plans to construct country’s largest train station in Mosul
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Iraq is preparing to construct its biggest train station to replace a previous one that was destroyed in the battle against ISIS militants in the Northern Nineveh Governorate.
The station’s construction in Mosul, the Governorate’s capital, will be supervised by the Ministry of Construction and Housing. The Ministry will carry out multiple train building projects, with this station being one of the largest in Iraq.
The 1935-built old Mosul station, which was severely destroyed during the conflict five years ago, would be replaced by the new station.
The new project’s studies are now being prepared by the Italian engineering consulting firm Progetti Europa & Global S.p.A. (PEG).
