 Iraq, Poland sign protocol to develop Iraqi Border Guard capabilities

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced it signed a protocol with Poland to develop the capabilities of the Iraqi Border Guard forces, the Iraqi News Agency (INA) reported.

The spokesperson of the Iraqi Foreign Ministry, Ahmed Al-Sahaf, mentioned in a statement that Head of the European Affairs Department in the Iraqi Foreign Ministry, Haider Al-Athari, and the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Polish Border Guard, signed the new protocol in the presence of representatives from both countries.

Al-Sahaf noted that this agreement includes exchanging experiences between the two sides and training courses for the Iraqi border guards to be held in Poland.

Al-Athari, following the signing ceremony of the new protocol, confirmed that the protocol reflects the joint cooperation between Iraq and Poland and strengthens the relations between the two countries, the statement explained.

The Polish official expressed his happiness with the new protocol, as it is a step forward for sustainable cooperation with Iraq, the statement illustrated.

The signing ceremony took place at the Polish Border Guard Command building in the Polish capital, Warsaw, the statement added.
