Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Iraq’s senior leaders rejected any aggression targeting Iraqi lands after the Turkish Ministry of Defense announced that it had carried out air strikes on sites belonging to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in northern Iraq.

The PKK claimed responsibility for the attack that targeted the Security Directorate in the Turkish capital, Ankara, on Sunday.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) mentioned in a statement that Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani attended on Sunday a meeting that included the Iraqi President, Abdul Latif Rashid, the Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Mohammed Al-Halbousi, and the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Faiq Zaidan.

The meeting addressed the latest developments and the political and security situation in the country.

A statement issued following the meeting confirmed that any aggression targeting the country’s territories contradicts the principles of good neighborliness and threatens the security and stability of Iraq and the region.

The statement also stressed that solutions to problems and differences could be reached through dialogue, understanding, cooperation, and joint coordination.
