Iraq seeks NATO’s support in cyber security

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Iraq emphasized its keenness to develop its relationship with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), calling for its support in the field of cyber security, according to a press statement issued by the press office of the Iraqi National Security Advisor, Qasim Al-Araji.
The statement elaborated that Al-Araji received a phone call from the NATO’s Assistant Secretary General for Operations, Thomas Goffus.
Al-Araji and Goffus discussed ways to strengthen cooperation and partnership between Iraq and NATO, as well as NATO’s continued support for building and developing the capabilities of the Iraqi forces by providing advice and training, the statement mentioned.
The Iraqi National Security Advisor emphasized Iraq’s keenness to strengthen the relationship with NATO, as an important strategic partner, noting that the Iraqi government is keen to develop this relationship.
Al-Araji emphasized the importance of providing support to Iraq in the field of cyber security, indicating the importance of keeping pace with the technological development taking place in the world.
