Iraq signs 11 agreements with Egypt

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Iraq and Egypt signed on Tuesday 11 agreements on the sidelines of the second session of the Joint Iraqi-Egyptian Committee, headed by the Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, and his Egyptian counterpart, Mostafa Madbouly.
A statement issued by the Egyptian cabinet mentioned that a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) and the Micro, Small and Medium Development Agency (MSMEDA) in Egypt to contribute to economic growth.
Both sides signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate in diplomatic training and a third one related to administrative development, public service, and civil service.
A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Iraqi Ministry of Trade and the Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry in the field of trade to join the World Trade Organization.
Several other agreements were signed between the Iraqi and Egyptian sides in the fields of labor, sports, and planning.
In a joint press conference with his Egyptian counterpart, Al-Sudani explained that the agreements signed between the two countries represent a road map for the relationship between the two governments in the next stage and reflect the serious desire of both leadership to develop relations between Iraq and Egypt and open new prospects for economic and trade cooperation.
The Egyptian Prime Minister said that the economic and trade relations between the two countries will witness a leap during the coming period.
Earlier on Tuesday, Al-Sudani discussed with the Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in areas of security, trade, investment, and infrastructure development.
The Iraqi Prime Minister, accompanied by a high-level government delegation, arrived in Cairo on Monday to participate in the second session of the Joint Iraqi-Egyptian Committee in the presence of senior Egyptian officials, including Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly.
