Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, announced on Monday three strategic projects in Dhi Qar governorate.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) mentioned in a statement that Al-Sudani announced from Dhi Qar a new residential city project on a land area of eight square kilometers that will provide 30,000 housing units, the Iraqi News Agency (INA) reported.

The project is part of the new city projects planned by the Iraqi government to tackle congestion in Iraqi cities.

Al-Sudani also announced a medical city project in the city of Nasiriyah, which includes specialized medical centers.

The Iraqi Prime Minister proposed a project that would cost 30 billion dinars, or around $23 million, to bring drinking water to the Sayed Dakhil district in Dhi Qar governorate.

Al-Sudani arrived on Monday morning in Dhi Qar to inaugurate several development projects and inspect the service and economic conditions in the southern Iraqi governorate.
