Iraq to construct 25 megawatt solar power station in Erbil
Erbil (IraqiNews.com) – The Pluto Otto Cycle firm and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) of Iraq have agreed to develop a solar power plant in the region of Erbil.
Kamal Mohammed, the Electricity Minister for the KRG, signed the agreement with the business to build the solar power plant. It will take 90 days to complete the project, which will use solar energy to generate 25 megawatts of power.
The KRG’s Ministry of Electricity is working to improve the industry through a variety of initiatives, with a focus on solar energy as a source of electricity and diversifying from natural gas imports.
