Iraq to face Japan, Indonesia, Vietnam in 2023 AFC Asian Cup
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Iraq’s football team is scheduled to play against Japan, Indonesia, and Vietnam in Group D in the 2023 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup, which will be held in Qatar.
The tournament is set to take place from January 12 to February 10, 2024, after it was originally scheduled to be held in China from June 16 to July 16, 2023, but China withdrew its hosting rights in May 2022 due to COVID-19 concerns.
A total of 24 national teams from Asia will participate in the championship through six groups, with Qatar as the defending champions.
The teams participating are Qatar, China, Tajikistan, Lebanon, Australia, Uzbekistan, Syria, India, Iran, the UAE, Hong Kong, Palestine, Japan, Indonesia, Iraq, Vietnam, Korea, Malaysia, Jordan, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Kyrgyzstan, and Oman.
The Iraqi football national team is scheduled to face Indonesia at 5:30 p.m. on January 15, 2024 at Ahmad bin Ali Stadium.
The national team’s second match against Japan is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on January 19 at Education City Stadium, and the team’s third match will be at 2:30 p.m. on January 24 at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.
